Dear Friends, 31 May 2005 Every other Tuesday I send out this newsletter telling you what's new on my website. Usually I include new links to websites that have products or information that can help you improve your health or the environment, answer your questions, and tell you about new articles. This past month the "new" that I've been working on is mostly structural--I've been changing my website from "static" pages that I have to completely create by hand, to a combination of static and "dynamic" pages that are automatically generated by a template pulling data from a database. This has required not only working with a professional database designer to build the database--and learning all about how that works--but also putting all the data on my website (including more than 500 links in Debra's List alone) into databases and giving them proper keywords so they show up on the right pages in the proper order, and so you can find everything in the magnificent search engine. I have literally been working day and night to get this done. It has taken much more time that I anticipated, but the results are going to be worth every minute. Not only will it better serve you, but also this structure will make it easier and faster for me to add more data to the websites. Today are working on solving one last technical problem, then I just need to do a quality check over the entire site and it will be ready. We've climbed the mountain and the summit is in sight. I'll send you another email just as soon as it is active-- the new search engine will allow you to find all the material across all my websites on a single subject, which will give you a whole new view of what's available. There is one new posting on my website that I would like to tell you about today--my article Changing Our Lives, Changing the World (see below). If you are reading this newsletter or visiting my websites, I expect you want to make some changes to make things better. But we all know change is often difficult and at times seems impossible. In this article I offer some tips I've learned about making successful changes, getting through those tough times, and creating the life and world you want. It looks like I'll be able to wrap up this website conversion in the next two weeks and be able to get back to my regular content for this newsletter in the next issue. I've got some great things piling up on my desk that I am looking forward to sharing with you. Debra :-)

Changing Our Lives, Changing Our World
A tiny change today brings us a dramatically different tomorrow.Back in ancient times, the Greek philosopher Heraclitus said, "The only thing that is permanent is change." He seems to be right, as far as life is concerned. Life is changing all the time, in fact, life, is a continuous flow of change. We are changing all the time, too, either in response to the rest of life, or by our own origination as living beings. As human beings, we each have the ability and power to change our own lives and change the world around us, for better or for worse. We have the ability to observe things as they are and decide we want to help them continue as they are because they sustain all life, or we want to do something to improve the situation. We may want to change things to improve our own lives, or the place or culture in which we live. Actually, I've found that we each have an inherent inborn desire to change things for the better. We're not content to simply sit back and let life fall apart. Despite all the destruction in the world today, there is something within each of us that wants to sustain life and have health, harmony, and happiness, and continues to inspire us to move in that direction. Regardless of what we want to change or why, the nature and process of change follows a very specific process. Read the rest of the article...
